NBS 99 07 interior thread

So i just picked up a center console for dirt cheap, I mean DIRT cheap....even came with dirt lol

Anyway, is there a pocket that I can change the cassette player out for? Or anyone have any other ideas as to what I could do in that area?

I can get you the pc from my junk yard
To replace the tape player with a little cubby hole, like i have in my truck

You could always just get a piece of plexi and tint it and put some switches in it.

How fo you guys decide what you wanted to paint, I was thinking the cluster bezel and around door handles bloack to help tie in the extior a little

don't paint around the door handles. that piece is supposed to blend with the panel.

I would paint
Bezel, passenger ac vents, grab bar
Window switchs on door
What color is your exterior color and interior color?

Tan-just leave it tan IMO,to hard to work with it
This is why i painted everything, if i had black interior would have just painted a few pcs

I'm planning on kind of doing a two-tone, black & grey interior. I plan on powerwashing/acetoning (thanks peyton!) The upper dash piece, painting the bezel, vents, air bag pad, and osh black along with my bluish console, then leaving the rest grey for now. Think it'll look decent?

I gotta at least do the console, the 99-02 charcoal is too blue compared to the 03+ and it bugs me.

Becare you dont crack the dash
Pressure wash before acetoning it might not even need it
Ass soon as you strip it if you have too wash the area asap i let mine sit for a while are you can actually see where it turned it white

You're saying if you use acetone, wash the area immediately after? Or power washing? If that's the case I'd just break it up into sections and do it.

If you can power wash it good

Plan b is acetone
Get old shower facial rag lay it on a section and dump a little acetone within 2 mins that section will buble up and whip off. Wash area with soap and water after
If you fuck it up pm me ill send you a whole dash for.30-35 any color you want

That acetone is some bamf shit

Thanks man, I appreciate it :shake: will probably attempt this over the course of a few weekends. Do one piece at a time.

I've never taken the oh shit handle or the air bag pad off...they hard to remove? Or will I see it once I get the dash off

remove bezel
remove passenger side ac vents
look in both vents each vent will have a small white clip push both sides and pull the grab bar out
Pull both fuse panel covers off and remove all screws there and around the dash its self and one screw in each passenger ac duct.
Start giving some force to unclip it and the passenger side above the air back has 3 clips right on each other its kind of tough but it will pop on out.Pull dash straight out and push up the least you can and you dont want to break any clips up front by the windshield
Seems like alot but will jump in my truck with 7mm ratchet philip and flat head and have it out in less than 10 min
You dont need to remove the airbag
but if you do the have 2 10mm nuts that you unscrew from the passenger ac vents and 2 from way under the glove box
