Different ways to go about fixing the thunk, thud, clunk, or slip bump. I would try in this order:
1. Apply a very generous amount of grease to the yoke. I used a good, sticky, heavy marine grease. I coated the inside and outside of the yoke with it. Just doing this fixed the clunk on my 03 Z71 for well over a year until I sold the truck. The truck was a DD with only some mild offroad action and my setup was 6+3 and 36" Iroks. This fix on a stock truck should give as good or better results. Some people on the net do not report as good of luck. I think it is all up to the type of grease you use, how often you grease, and driving conditions/habits.
2. I did this next method on my current truck. Running 13" of lift made it even harder for the yoke to slide properly and just greasing it didn't fix the issue. I used a small triangular file to file the edge of the splines in the slip yoke. A couple quick strokes is enough. The idea is to take the sharpness out of splines. You wont really be able to see the difference so don't go crazy with the file. Make sure you clean it out real well and lube it with grease (see 1.), then install it.
3. I have never bought the updated yoke, but the be-all-end-all fix is to buy the nickel plated yoke. Might wanna contact dealer to confirm part # and whether this is 4wd or 1 piece rear drive shaft specific, then maybe order cheaper online. Here is TSB I found through a google search:
