Important!: LQ4 swap. Truck won't crank. Neutral safety switch?

Got motor in. Everything hooked up. The truck won't turn over. I think it's my neutral safety switch on the side of the trans. My buddy didn't know they were glued in and busted the connectors when we removed them. The black box is cracked. Also the gear selector display only highlights park, when I shift to any other gear it won't highlight it. Also the truck WILL come out of park without my foot on the brake.

Will a bad neutral safety switch cause my truck not to turn over?
Is there a way to bypass it? 99-02, not 03-07.
How much is a new switch?
I read something about a j tool to install, looks sorta complicated...

sounds like your on the right path....

There is hundreds of things that can cause that no start after doing a swap...but it sounds like the switch is fuckied
