Issues with Truck

Drove to school in morning something happened to truck.

RPM was jumping.
Sorta sputtered sometimes i could give gas sometimes i couldnt.
slowed down to turn on rode real slow and died.
Cranked once or twice stalled.
Waited a while it cranked with RPM still jumping and i moved it a little.

Went to shop put new Battery in and its working again!.
Battery had soem bad cells or something.
thank goodness.
I was worried . Love my truck!

Once it was started I'd think that battery wouldn't have anything to do with it?

maybe a bad alternator,

if the battery goes bad it will run for a bit, but if they connecting in the bat goes bad it cannot make enough voltage to keep running, it uses the batt like a capasitor. (i cant spell that last word lol)

Interesting enough, a bad cell in a battery will cause alllll these problems. I know it doesnt sound proper in a technical sense as the batteries main purpose is to start the car, however if you get a bad cell in the battery, it breaks the circuit, thuis causing a power issue.

WE see it all the time at the shop.


I pressure them did a full test on starter and alt to confirm no draws or voltage issues after replacement?

I had this same problem and it was my battery, weird but it is.

weird you wouldnt think that if the alternator was working properly that the battery being bad would not allow it to run. but now if the battery was shorting out internally could understand that.

Some bad cells was what it was diagnosed with.
