So it's time to pick out a set of tires. My job has discounted pricing so I'm going that route.

I have researched tire sizes and it looks like I will be going with 285/50/20. They measure out to 31.2" which is .2" taller than my current size. Truck won't go any lower for a good while and its better than the factory 275's which would rub on occasions. And I understand that I might rub with the 285's.

Onto the tire brands. Cooper Discoverer HTP and Toyo Proxes S/T. I can get the Toyo's for $119 a piece which will come out to 520 +/- after tax. No road hazard though but I'm not too worried about it. I read the coopers are not that great and wear out faster.

Has anybody had any experience with either tires? Suggestions on other brands? I mainly drive in the city, sometimes highway. The Bridgestones that I have now have lasted me pretty good.

Why go bigger if the 275s rubbed? Go a little smaller and eliminate all rubbing imo.

Just looking for something different. 255/55/20 are more expensive than the 285/50/20.

They rubbed in the beginning until it made its path into the fender liner. After that, it was minimal.

going bigger w/out warranty is asking for bad news imo. i know its not much, but my bfg didnt rub much, but it was bad enough to need warranty replacement.

Do y'all recommend sticking with factory size tires? 275/55/20 Cooper Discoverer HTP and Proxes both cost $113. I'm on a tight budget as well

if its just rubbing the liner, i dont see a problem with that then. mine was on the fender lip... i think you'd be fine tbh

I liked my Falken Ziex ST/Z05 a lot. I even have a brand new 275/45/20 sitting here

Truck came with that size in the front and it was way too small for the big wheel wells. I'll probably go with factory size so I can flip them down the road

Probably the best tire I've had on either truck so far.

Wow. How many miles do those have? There's mixed reviews on those. Some are quiet and some are loud etc

In that pic, about 20

I have maybe 7K or so on them now and show no signs of wear on them. They ride great and handle even better, I'll definitely consider another set when (if) these wear out.

How are they in the rain? Quietness?

Those ziex did well with a cc in the rain. Quiet. No noise at all. And ride good. I have hankook on the g8. Those are bad ass. Grip like a son of a bitch imo. Evo gen2
