Anyone familier with Aero Turbine mufflers?

Xr-1s are now $250+ for a damn muffler. FTS spintech is ~80 for plain aluminized or +70 for stainless steel. Aero's are ~100 for polished 304 stainless steel. so if i dont get an aero ill look into the Bullets.
just need to know if the resonator really makes that much a difference or not :fight:
 
holy shit did i jest at :45 when you walked away from the camera. because i glanced at your bigfoot icon hahahha but that still sounds pretty damn good :imo from the vid at least lol i also have the 5.3 and gonna get a K&N drop in filter, that may make it a tiny bit louder than your too, no?
 
lol yeah having the 5.3 will probably add a tad more bass, not sure about loudness. 2 buddies of mine both have FM original 40s, one a 5.3 the other a 4.8. The 5.3 is deeper but the 4.8 is louder, both are dumped before the axle under the bed.
 
:hmm: well at first i was thinking i should go with the 3030xl with resonator because i dont really want it being too loud, and by dumping it should make it a little louder since it bounces off the ground. so figured the resonator would kinda make up for the dump. but now that your saying yours did the opposite..im back wondering if i should go 3030 to make up for the loss by dumping lol ya know?
 
I wouldn't bother with the XL version unless you absolutely wanted zero drone. The 3030 doesn't drone bad at all.
 
lol ya im just way overthinking this shit :shot: its just my first exhaust system and dont want to get something and later be like fuck, should got the other one! lol ill prob be way happy with either of em and my ears wont be able to tell the difference between small changes in drone really anyway lol so 3030 it is! :woot: just not sure when its all gonna go down.. lol
 
aeroturbine mufflers are awesome wish i would have went with one on my ram the 3030 would sound really nice. still thinking of getting the 3535 for my 6.0 but who knows at this point.
 
hell buy one when you get tired of current one lol they arent expensive at all, especially when you can sell your old one to make some money back

supposedly they are top end with performance also, not just sound. i seen diagrams how they work and it seems like a pretty legit system. anyone have input on if its for real, or just another gimmick?

If only I could have back all the money I've spent on this damn exhaust haha
 
I loved mine, I had the 4040XL, on a diesel though. It nearly eliminated the drone problem I had, I was extremely satisfied with the build quality of the muffler.

that is nicee. they do seem to be very well constructed. im assuming the muffler # represents the size piping it has on it? first two digits are inlet, second two digits are outlet? so 3030= 3"in 3"out, and 4040= 4"in 4"out
 
Yes you are correct on the sizing. I actually just ordered a aero turbine 3535 for my truck, going to install it with stock 3.5" dmax piping I got for free, dumped over the axle with a 5x15" tip.
As soon as it gets here in a day or two I'm super excited to get it all installed...

Scarber08: why did you not like it dumped with a 5" tip? I thought it sounded awesome in your video above for bassmaster... I really like the sound of like a corsa exhaust on a vette or mustang, and want something sporty like that, so that's why I bought the aero. My truck is lifted 5.3 though, and I'm going to be using larger pipe so I'm hoping it sounds the way I want it to. I had a fm40 when I bought the truck, droned like crazy, so I put a cbe, but it's too quiet at operating temps, so that's why I'm changing it up...
 
While cruising it had a very hollow ringing sound to it. I suspect it was the tip more than anything though.
 
Okay, well I hope mine sounds good then. My tip is being delivered today, hopefully muffler by monday

Got mine today 3535, so as soon as I get the time I will weld it all up and let you know how it sounds, I'm really excited now...
