Ever thought about a stake pocket mount?
Just spent 9 days on the Oregon Coast, camping in the sand with the camper riding the quad.
Oregon Coast!!!
I don't stay in any silly campgrounds. I air down and head out into the sand!
Take notice, I ditched all the smoked lighting as well... I'm liking the look more at the moment.
We even drag subaru's out into the sand.
Some misc shots
Broke camp part way during the week to empty and refill camper tanks, stop at the store, and grab more fuel.
I feel like I could use another week down there soon. It's super enjoyable.

My partner in crime most trips
Eastern Washington is beautiful in summer.
Have actually been home the last few weekends, the most recent one involved a full wash, clay, wash, cut and polish of the dually. It's amazing how good it looks now.
Done! Oh and I ditched the plasti-dip on the bumper. Not sure if I like this better or before.
And, a snapshot of what is to come.... Something involving Z71 taillight covers.

I haven't been a huge fan of cowl hoods, maybe something custom I would like but i'm still not sure.

My take on LED tails. I probably should have originally bought the red set way back when, but I had these and the OEM tails. BTW the OEM tails were coated in nightshade.... So the process involved removing that with lots and lots of wet sanding. Started out with 400, moved to 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 followed by Compound, polish and wax. Once they were back up to par, bake them for 10-min at 200 in the over, pull the lenses, add some RTV and slap them on the LED bases. They were a direct fit.
Remember those Z71 taillight guards? Yup. Put those on as well. I'm, not usually one for stick on accessories, but these were provided by Ma General so they are acceptable in my book
Some shots on the truck. The leds work perfect behind the OEM lenses. They are nice and bright, line up with the OEM cuts in the lens, line up with the Z71 covers, and have that perfect blend of custom and OEM that I love.

turned out much better then i thought. i thought you were just putting the trashy euro style on with those covers originally.
Didn't know what you were planning to do with the covers at first, but they actually look great on there. Nice little mod that goes a long way.

C'mon, you didn't think I was that trashy did you? Those tails have been on the truck since early in my ownership, except they have been covered with a nice dark vinyl tint. I bought them that way because they were the darkest housing at the time and the best setup to smoke them. After removing the vinyl, I wish I would have bought the clear red version. Although I think they look better with the OEM lenses over the LEDs, so I guess it all worked out well.
Thanks! I've wanted a set of Z71 covers for YEARS. Finally scored a set from another forum member elsewhere. I think they fit well on a black truck TBH.

Carefully modified my set of euro amber upper corner lights. They ended up being off center a bit due to the way the light/grille are angled behind the GMC grille.
I also added some fake tile backsplash to the camper kitchen. These stick on tiles are pretty cool.

So, just as an update, last weekend I sold my 02 GMC. Part of me is broken about it, but I literally never used it anymore. It just sat getting dirty all the time outside. A little rememberane.
And yet again, I have more things in the works this weekend and next week..................

You're always having a good time it seems! Sad to see the 02 go, but it was probably for the best if you didn't use it.
