Paint scratches/swirls

Pretty sure the previous owner of my truck washed it with sandpaper. It has scratches and swirls in the clear coat on 98% of the truck. The truck is dark blue and looks like donkey shit.

Anyone have opinions on Nu-Finish scratch remover?

Not looking to invest $7,893 in equipment.

your not going to repair anything without a rotary or obital buffer. even if you barrow one, one time and go through all the stages to get it back into shape, it will then be managable by hand.

or have it professionally detailed and manage it by hand after.

all those over the shelf things just have fillers, it will look semi decent for a little while till the fillers thin out and you end up where your at now.

yep, if it was cheap and easy, everyones car would look good, and it would only be 30 bucks for a detail, but basically, to fix your paint they need to polish off the clear a little to make the outside edge even with the deeper scratched part.

Makes sense. It's got a few door dings and a dent from a tree so I guess I'll just try to keep it clean til I get the whole thing re-done.

cheap solution. go to harbor freight, buy rotary polisher there. buy a wool pad and a foam pad, then go buy some meguiars polish and buff it out yourself. shouldnt cost more than $60 total

It's easy if you have basic knowledge to do it. It gets the job done quicker but you can burn through the paint pretty quick.

yep. your rarely ever going to burn through with a foam pad, but a wool pad you have to be careful with
