OBS rear speakers

alright so its time to replace the stock rear speakers in my truck and i know i have to basically gut the interior (remove front seats so i can get the rear seat out of the truck, remove rear panels without breaking them)

now other then cutting into the grills and putting dif speakers in, is there any other alternate route i could go?

i think the speakers in there now are like 4.5? correct me if im wrong and the fronts are 6.5s (i know thats right bc i already replaced them)

i have some alpines in the front doors but im looking to get a full set for the fronts and backs but not sure what brand to go?
Rockford fosgate, pioneer, etc. i would co with the sundowns, with tweeters but cant afford 400 for a set of 4 speakers (200 each)

what size should i run in the back?

i wanna just forget about em it just sound bad bc my driver rear speaker sometimes cuts in and out and is blown so it sounds shitty, just wanna get something that sounds good, a dude i went to hs with has an obs and he just had them cut the grills out and put speakers in, imo it looks kinda hack jobish, just rather find something that sounds good and would fit in there

4x6...I've always been told to forget about them

It's a gigantic pain in the ass to change them. It's also not really worth it. I'd just get good ones for the front and forget the rear. I replaced mine but it was a big ordeal.

I feel ya, I replaced mine in my 89 reg cab. Since they are fucked, I would, but I would buy the cheapest QUALITY ones you can buy and be done. No need to go big. I think mine were like $35, some cheap ass Power Acoustics.

so im assuming the best place to get some 4x6s would probably be crutchfield? idk how good schosche (sp) speakers are, they sell em at walmart also found out they sell kicker speakers at walmart now too

also my dad said something about giving me a couple speaker amps that he had installed in his charger so idk if ill even use them for the component speakers or what....since they are ollllld

the rear ones on my truck i unpluged and just left them, put subs behind the seat in thier place. even if you get good speakers, the panels rattle sounding like shit.

OP, the best thing you can do is disconnect them and forget about them.

Moore, if it's got 6.5's in the location it's worth replacing, and it wont be hard to get to.

alright i know this is probably really stupid but the little cubby holes/storage bins in the back would a couple speakers in custom boxes sound good in there? or honestly not even worth it?

I personally would concentrate on a good front stage only.

i need to get new speakers just not sure brand and i wanna get the backs bc i can hear the difference when the back speakers are not playing and it sucks!

well i have a couple alpines in the fronts my dad said something about giving me a couple speaker amps out of his 69 charger (in process of teardown to take to get restored) so idk if ill use em or not

i just had to unbolt the rear seat and fold it foward it would slide past the front seat with it slid forward all the way. then i just pulled the top panel and 2 side panels. i did the rears on obs in about a hour or 2.
