Just about done with tuning. We're hammering out a slight dip at idle but other than that the VE table and MAF portions are where he wants them to be.

Really can't give him enough praise. I've gotten 9 revisions since Monday morning. Even got one yesterday morning on the holiday. Went WOT a couple times while logging and good lawd does this feel awesome. It's just got more power everywhere all the time. Torquey as a mofo.

Next purchase will be stuff for the 10 bolt, because that's a when is grenades, not an if .

Next project I'd like to tackle will be the power conversion. Windows, locks, and set up my cutout wiring to the one window switch. Also need to find a spot for the cutout, space is limited on this thing.

Also kinda wanna add a small bullet after the muffler to tone down some of the rasp. I like it cruising and at idle, but with no cats there's a lot of rasp up top.

I have the cutout. Problem is there's so little room. Ideally I'd like it right where the y meets the catback and just clamp it there, that way if I need to remove the exhaust all I have to do it loosen the clamps and drop it in sections. That's kinda what I'm leaning towards.

And the bullet. Thinking of putting that in the upward section that goes over the axle depending on room.

What's wrong with ur 10 bolt? What sort of mods you gonna do to it? After you get the truck all dialed in gonna have to ride in it to get my swap motivation going lol

nothing yet, but it is prone to blowing the fuck up. IIRC his is bone stock. it will handle decent power with a tru-trak and bearing support.

Basically what Bryan said. It's stock. The G80 goes under stock power. So that'll be next. Throw some gears in too while I'm at it.

Yeah at least for now I have the different cover with girdle support. Not like that'll help much but it's something.

Was leaning towards 4.30s, since I'm 2wd and don't have to worry about the front. And Tru Trac.

Good gear ratio for t56 or 4l80e, depending on what I wanna do. Can't really go wrong either way.

Got in from work today and took the truck for a cruise. Filled it with fresh gas and drove back roads for about 50 or so miles. It feels solid and is a blast to drive. It's got power everywhere it should. It cruises better than the 4.8 did, it maintains speed effortlessly on the highway whereas you had to pedal the stock motor....And it gets rowdy when you ask it to. Gf took a snap of me turning out of her road, I'll have her send it to me so I can post it.

I do also want to plan out some suspension upgrades. It rolls quite a bit and has a lot of bumpsteer. I'm thinking coilovers up front and adjustable shocks out back and relocate them. Not looking for an auto x slayer, just tighten it all up and make it worthy of all the back roads around me.

I have about 300 miles on the swap so far and no complaints. Gonna drop the oil and filter at 500 and retorque everything I can get to.
