As soon as the car hits my driveway Im going to crawl under it and take a look at the housing to see if I have some numbers I can use a reference.

As soon as I explode that trans though, I wont be rebuilding it. I'll probably move to a ZF6 or 6060.

Best idea would be to go ahead and get a new trans, pull that one out, it's worth $$$ to the right collector.

If I had that cash (read: justify it to the wife) - I would.

If its not detonated by winter - I might just do that. You want it?

You got a hell of a deal, that's a great car! One question tho, does it have power brakes? I don't see a brake booster

I like your plans for it but it'll be fun to just drive for now too. It's got a good stance. The only things I would really change soon is get a correct set of chevelle mirrors on it (idk what the big ass mirror is from), move the tach, and maybe change the stripe color to silver. I've always loved silver against that red. If you did that, and powder the center of the TTIIs charcoal, I think that'd look :boobs:

But either way, I love it! Good find!

The booster is that rusty piece of fuck just behind the hood hinge assembly.

I also like the silver on that color - but Im not going to spend any money on the paint for a few years. At that point I'll tear down and full paint with a silver/green paint scheme.

Depending on the condition of the wheels I may either powder coat them like suggested or just polish them up a bit. I dunno.

Good point on the mirrors, I never really looked at them. My minds eye saw the right ones.

very cool car,

is it an original A/C car?

Yes it is actually. However, only the condenser remains. None of the hoses or compressor exist. It was friggin hot yesterday. Got me researchin on what Id need to do to get the AC back in it.

Correction to my brake post - that rusty piece of fuck behind the hood hinge is indeed a manual brake master with no booster. I researched the shit out of boosters the last few days. WANT to go hydroboost - DONT WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY ON IT.

So I bought a Wilwood Vac Boost assembly with valve.

I hear ya on the paint. It looks good as is, I like the silver/green idea tho. Looking at the wheels a second time, I bet you could polish em up real nice or PC's not expensive. I have no idea what the mirrors are off of, but they're def not chevelle ones. Not a big thing tho.

I was wondering, you definitely don't wanna be running manual brakes with all that power. That Wilwood kit should be good though

Apparently theyre GM Remote Sport Mirrors. IDGAF - theyre still buggin the shit out of me.

I received my Wilwood Assembly - fuggin reservoir has a canyon sized crack in it. So much for "as new". Return and hope the guy has another just like it or I do with another brand. Not a big deal since I dont have the DAMN car yet. SHouldve cash bought the car - it wouldve been easier.

So I started doing things to my car recently. Here's some pics of the bullshit Im going to have to fix someday. I order some vinyl for the dash and a-pillars. And started tearing plastics off to paint them. Just picking away, here and there.

Why is there a camaro wheel on my column?

What once was blue and then was black is now blue again with a little degreaser

And now for the WTF moment of the day - I was taking some friends for a ride when I noticed it was unusally hot in the car. So I reached down to the floor to feel HOT air coming through the carpet seam. Like blow dryer hot. So I pulled the carpet up a couple days later to find this hack job (less the silicone and marine epoxy). The "patch panel" had pulled all of the self tappers out and was letting HOT air come up through. So I bought bigger self tappers, some marine grade epoxy, and a tube of trusty silicone and made a semi permanent (at least until it happens again or I can afford the body off resto) fix to it. Now no more heat!

At least that's a halway decent looking wheel. One of those rosewood SS wheels would look really nice.
Plz tell me you're not going back to blue interior in a red car.
What a hack just of a trans tunnel. I wonder why they cut it like that? Your fix should work fine I would think, but I'd trim that bit that's folded behind the shifter if you haven't already. Got any more pics of the interior?

No Huck, Im not going back to blue. Yes I did trim the folded back piece of fuck they bent back to clear the shifter. That tunnel patch was so huge for 2 reasons - 1) It was an Auto Car with a console shifter at one time and 2) whomever cut the hole for the manual trans is a total idiot. Anyways, the tunnel patch isnt really fixed, just a bandaid for a few years when I can pull the tub and put a new floor pan / trunk pan in. More pics -

Derpacolor the license plate bracket - it was a rusty piece but I sand blasted, rust inhibited, then duplicolored it.

Whats behind the glove box? A bunch of old nasty firewall insulation and some wires for whatever the fuck -

And now Im going to start painting things on the inside. I already did those blue kick panels black with SEM (shit is awesome). I've decided to paint the metal parts Ultra Silver Metallic and keep the rest of the black stuff black. Im going to cover the dash and A pillars in Whisper Vinyl black. Eventually, I'll do custom door panels with silver suede inserts (probably this winter as Id like to complete a custom center console at the same time).

Needs cleared yet -

Pic is dark but I reinstalled the kicks - I'll get better pics when its light out

:shake: Ahhh now the trans tunnel makes sense. I know it's not perm but it'll certainly work till you're ready for the big teardown. Glad you're not going blue with the interior, had me scared for a second

Blue wouldve looked like shit. Current interior plan in these steps -

Paint the steel parts Silver Metallic
Cover dash pad with homemade stitched Whisper Vinyl in black with silver stitching
Cover A-Pillars in same vinyl - no stitching
Sand and smooth cluster panel and paint satin Black
Paint rest of interior plastics from dash satin black

Then 1 at a time Im going to pull the door panel and starting covering them with the same vinyl. Going to cut some sort of feature out of poster board so its not just a big flat panel on the door. Maybe do some glassing. I dont know. I know what I want to do but have never done glass before.
