HID question

HID's in halogen housing is a huge cock move. I blast each and everyone I see with my 6HI mod. Just ignorant.

^this. OEM didn't light up signs till they were practically on top of me, HID's I can see the signs half sometimes 3/4 of a mile up the road if the road is flat. who ever told you there is no benefit is a dumbass
I told myself that, faggot. I had SuperWhite halogens in my 07 then went to HIDs. The only difference was the amount of people flashing me. Carry a flashlight if you can't fucking read street signs.

Excellent
THAT is just plain ignorant. Blind somebody becasue you dont like their headlights. Not to mention dangerous and stupid.
I can guarantee that its easier to look at high beams than it is to look at fgt HID glare.
If they are aimed down to where they don't blind oncoming traffic, what's the big deal.
That's the problem. Nobody aims them. And with the horrible light output my HIDs put out, I had to aim them up; thus making them useless and annoying to others.

I plan on retrofitting my Tacoma so I can have legit HIDs. Not just a blue headlight housing with a 5 foot flood of light.

HIDs in halogen housings are just another ricer fad.

To answer your original question the bulb is in sole control of what color it is. The ballast just drives ( powers ) it.

Address the HID in halogen thing is noth worth getting into since no one will listen to proper logic as already seen.

The level of butthurt people are getting over someone in another part of the country running HIDs in improper housings is pretty amusing.

OP, aim them right & double check them with a friend driving your truck towards you. The only time I ever got flashed with my HIDs was when I had weight in the bed at night and the lights were aimed higher.

They're about the same :imo: with high beams ahead by a little. But to say that there aren't any output and viewing advantages when switching from OEM to HID is absurd. That's why people retrofit them in the first place.

I don't have a problem with retrofits. I'm planning on doing mine soon. Retrofits are awesome. But I have a problem with all these local fgts running 8000K HIDs in stock housings. That serves no purpose. Light output is cut in half while blinding oncoming traffic. So when I see someone doing it somewhere else, I'd imagine there's probably pissed off locals where he lives; waiting on him to hit them at night so they can sue for improper lighting.

Damn, now my argument is invalid :/ lol

The three sets I used all said "of road purposes only" and "check local laws". I asked a state trooper and he said that you're only allowed to have white or amber lights on the front of a vehicle and that if a cop wanted to, he could pull someone over for them. I know a guy who got a warning but he had 10,000k that weren't aimed.

Same here. But, most local cops don't mess with anyone. State boys are a different story though. They've pulled me over just for suspicious vehicle lol.

Just giving them a taste of what it feels like having an asshat driving towards them with HID's. Make them think.

with Projectors yes, halogen housing makes zero difference because the light is scattered everywhere.

Word, i give them the 10hi with led bars

I have very light sensitive eyes so having HID's in my face drives me fucking nuts! I'm actually looking into doing retro fits into 03-07 silverado lights. They don't look the best but it's better than being an asshat that blinds everyone. Aldo the Police have been issuing a TON of tickets because local law doesn't allow HID's to be swapped in unless they came from factory.

That's my dilemma. My Toyota has huge square headlights so its gonna look retarded regardless of how I do it. And I refuse to get eBay lights with projectors and LEDs.....

But as I am sure you may know 55w 6000k will not be the same color as 35w 6000k. Higher wattage lowers the color temperature of the same bulb. So in the case of cheap ballasts, 6000k bulbs with low budget cheap ballasts will appear more blue than a true, tested 35w ballast with the same bulbs

But 55w HID is just plain usless anyway so meh!!

My 35w MH1 retro will destroy any of the pnp kits anyway so im just going to stay over here.
