I have begun researching drop information for gm1000s and I thought I’d start throwing the info out there. This will include everything from:

kits we’ve seen people use plus comments and reviews of those kits
other components used
pics with drops
stock tires…rub or no
and ect.

I’ll mainly focus on 4/7 drops (because that’s what I want to do)
I know of 3 basic drop kits:

DJM (DJM2507-4/7) 658$ without shocks

McGaughys adjustable kit (34160) 749$ without

Belltech 4/7 kit (BEL-993SP) 767$ without shocks
Belltech 2014+ Silverado/Sierra 4/7 Lowering Kit

from what I’m hearing, both the DJM and McGaughys flip kits are regurgitated 07-13 flip kits and cause driveline vibration and require a bit of modifying. Belltech uses a new kit.

I have no belltech pics at all, save the belltech truck.

More suspension info: that silver reg cab has installed coilovers in the front. I do not have a part number for the rear shocks yet.

going thru all the complains about tire rubbing with stock 20s...i've come to the conclusion that stockers will rub with anything at or above 31" tall.

I just wrapped up an install on a '14 single cab using McGaughys parts. I used drop kit 34170 and helper bags 34043. I recommend using the 34170 kit over the 34160. The 34170 includes front and rear shocks while the 34160 does not include shocks and utilizes the coil relocators to achieve the front drop over the 2" the spindles provide.

I also recommend NOT using the shock relocators, the ride is pretty stiff with them.

If you have any additional questions let me know.

update on this: McGaughys has confirmed there was driveline vibration due to the flip kit pushing the drive shaft into the transmission. the new 2014 kit has corrected this.

Nice info you have provided. If anyone has any questions I can help with please let me know.
Do you know if the 34170 Mcgaughys kit requires the drive a haft to be shortened? I've seen a few complaints about vibration. Set at 3/5" do you know if the stock tires (275/55R20) will clear without rubbing?

Ehhh, I am hearing people doing this. You shouldn't have to. The McG's kit is just recycled parts from the 07-13. Belltech corrected the pinon angle and centered the rear wheels by designing a new flip kit.
